Keep the words you hear.

Capturing captions from a video

  1. Pause the video where you want to begin.
  2. In Noteweave, tap Capture Screen, then Start Capture, and choose Noteweave.
  3. Return to the video and play the part you want to keep.
  4. Tap the red indicator at the top of the screen to stop.
  5. Back in Noteweave, choose the group of text that held the captions and save it.

Nothing was recognised

If a capture comes back empty, check Caption Area under Capture. If it is set to a narrow band and the captions sat outside it, nothing will be read. Choose Read Whole Screen to rule it out.

Recording speech

Tap the microphone button. Around Me records the room through the microphone; This iPhone records what the device itself is playing. Transcribe afterwards, review the text, then save it.

Chinese transcription is missing

Chinese speech recognition requires iOS 26. On earlier versions it is not offered, because the older speech engine cannot transcribe Chinese without uploading the recording — which Noteweave will not do. Chinese captions on screen are read on any supported version.

Marking just the good part

Assign Mark Good Part to Back Tap: open the Shortcuts app, create a shortcut containing the Mark Good Part action, then go to Settings › Accessibility › Touch › Back Tap › Double Tap and choose it. Back Tap only lists shortcuts, which is why it has to be wrapped in one first.
