Privacy Policy — Verse Seek

Verse Seek (“the app”) helps you find Bible verse references in study material and look them up. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. You do not need an account to use the app.

What stays on your device

• Photos and camera images. When you photograph a page or pick an image, the text is recognized on your device (Google ML Kit). Your images are not uploaded to us or to any server, and the app does not save copies of them.
• Favorites. When you save a verse to Favorites, only the reference (for example, “John 3:16”) is stored locally on your device — never the verse text.
• Settings. Your preferences (translation, display mode, text size, theme, add-button position) are stored locally on your device.

What is sent over the network

To display verse text, the app sends the verse references only (e.g. “John 3:16”) to the translation provider you have selected:

• Recovery Version — Living Stream Ministry API (api.lsm.org).
• Public-domain translations (KJV, WEB, ASV, BBE) — bible-api.com.

Your photos are never sent. The returned verse text is shown during your session and is not stored on your device (an in-memory cache is cleared when the app closes).

What we do not do

• No user accounts or logins.
• No advertising.
• No analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.

Third-party services

Verse text is provided by the services listed above; their handling of requests is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

Children’s privacy

The app is a general-audience tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
